Time wasted

I’m having problems wondering how QSA can possibly believe that what they’re asking us to do these days is producing better-educated Maths and Physics and Chem students than we had previously, when more emphasis could be placed on the actual teaching and learning, because the teachers could see clearly what they had to do, and had time to prepare and improve lessons. Too many of our recent after-school meetings and evening TDMTA meetings have had to be devoted to scrutinising everyone’s interpretations of the syllabus requirements, rather than to things we’d like to do such as sharing ways of introducing topics or developing understandings. That’s what we wanted to do when we became teachers.
