- The history of PLATO in WA. Platoqld was copied on a now sleeping organisation called platowa which successfully got rid of WA’s experiment with the type of education system we have in Qld. In fact WA’s now scrapped system was far less radical or ridiculous than Qld’s but they got rid of it after a major battle and the resignation of an education minister. One of the reasons that Qld has persisted is that it seems few Qld teachers know that there is an alternative system which works better, and with less work. Qld’s system was slowly changed and nobody objected until the teachers in the quantitative subjects (maths, physics and chemistry) started to rebel when they were told they were not allowed to add up marks.
