Letter to QLD Teachers’ Union (2)

To Queensland Teacher’s Union:

I am expressing my concern with regards to the absolute chaos and insanity in assessment in Queensland Education. I am a teacher with 32 years of experience in public schools in Queensland.

The stress put on teachers when implementing hazy and unsure assessment procedures has, I believe, been responsible for literally killing teachers, has led to teachers leaving education prematurely and, as the problem worsens, will increasingly be a barrier to people becoming teachers.

This problem has been going on in Education for over 30 years and must be stopped!

The fact that I cannot speak openly and identify myself is an indicator of the bully and intimidation techniques used through the system.

This is a matter that is of extreme importance. It is a Workplace Health and Safety issue. It is no small matter, has been going on for decades and is getting worse.
