Time consuming

The new syllabus was presented as a small change and therefore did not need to be trialled (saving money). It is a major change, and writing the new work programs has been onerous. The setting and marking of assessment tasks has also involved a much greater expenditure of time compared to the previous syllabus.

Because of the greater emphasis on writing rather than mathematics, I have needed to increase the time spent on assessment. This emphasis on writing also disadvantages boys.

I can see no advantages provided by the new syllabus to either students or teachers to outweigh the time and gender bias problems.

Whoever wrote it should be sacked.
